The Virginia Association of Surveyors was established in 1948 to promote the interests and professional development of surveyors licensed in the Commonwealth. We accomplish this goal by participating in a wide range of activities, from continuing education and scholarship funding to lobbying efforts in Richmond.

APELSCIDLA Clarifies Land Surveying and Storm Water Management Regulations

In an effort to clarify issues regarding land surveying and storm water management, Kate Nosbisch, APELSCIDLA Executive Director, sent this clarification.

Register below for this four-day school featuring 2 distinct courses of study and review for those preparing for the "Fundamentals of Surveying" and "Principles & Practice of Surveying" state administered exams. Classes run from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, except for the "Principles & Practice of Surveying," which starts at 7AM on Thursday July 30th.

Governor McAuliffe Appoints Doyle Allen to APELSCIDLA Board

With Patrick Leary's resignation, a seat has opened on the Architects, Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, Certified Interior Designers and Landscape Architects (APELSCIDLA) board.

The Virginia Association of Surveyors Board of Directors took recommendations from members for nominees to fill the vacancy. After careful consideration the board chose to put forward Mr. Doyle Allen, LS, Ms. Vickie McEntire Anglin, LS, and Mr. Steven Douty, LS.

Today, Governor McAuliffe accepted the VAS recommendation and appointed Doyle Allen. You can read the Governor's announcement here.

Management of the Virginia Association of Surveyors changed hands and the transition is now complete. We thank Judy for all the wonderful work she's done. Going forward, the VAS headquarters is now in Reston, Virginia. (details)
